Abstract

Magnetorheological (MR) dampers have received great deal of attention in recent years as they are one of the most promising controlled devices. Due to the inherent nonlinear nature of magnetorheological (MR) dampers, one of the challenging aspects for developing and utilizing these devices to achieve high performance is the development of models that can accurately describe their unique characteristics. In this paper, different kinds of existing parametric models are discussed where their parameters have been studied. The experimental data including displacement, velocity and force are measured for different values of current. These models are verified by experimental measurements to obtain the more accurate model.
