An attempt has been made to develop a method for predicting the development of turbulent boundary layers in adverse pressure gradient. Simple calculation procedure is presented by incorp-orating a deceleration rate parameter into boundary layer equations. The compressibility effect of the flow is considered° by adopting the Mach number in the momentum and skin friction relations. The predictions of the boundary layers are in good agreement with available experimental results, which validates the calculational technique.
