Thermal Image Assessment using CFD Analysis

Abstract

Thermal image is the figure presenting the captured thermal energy radiation of the distinct points of the outer surface of anybody due to their temperature. The thermal status of few elemental-geometrical shaped bodies has been described. The physical models of these cases were established. CFD technique is applied to compute the temperature distribution
field on the outer surfaces of the body. The same data package FLUENT was used to map related images to these temperature distributions. Then the thermal images of the same cases under the prescribed seen conditions have been captured using thermal camera. Comparison analyses have been carried out. It was concluded that the technique itself is valid. However, too much attention should be paid to the coincidence of constructive factors, in addition to the run variable parameters such as the spectral emissivity.
